Project Description
The Antelope Water System Improvements project enhanced the reliability, capacity, and efficiency of the City’s water infrastructure to better serve this rural community. The project included the construction of two new 80,000-gallon concrete water reservoirs, providing 160,000 gallons of additional storage capacity, along with associated piping and approximately 3,500 feet of new 3-inch HDPE raw water transmission main connecting the City’s existing well to the new reservoirs.
Additional improvements modernized the City’s water distribution system, including installation of approximately 4,350 feet of new 8-inch C900 PVC transmission main, 2,800 feet of 6-inch C900 PVC water main, replacement of water service lines, and installation of new automatic-read water meters. The project also included a new telemetry system and automated meter reading technology to improve system monitoring and operational efficiency.
As a critical infrastructure investment for a disadvantaged rural community, the project was fully funded through outside sources. Our team helped the City identify, pursue, and secure funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and Oregon’s Water/Wastewater and Safe Drinking Water State Revolving Funds. This funding package enabled the City to complete essential improvements while minimizing financial impacts on residents.
