Project Description
Located in the San Juan Mountains, the Idarado mining facilities include historic mining infrastructure, water systems, and environmental restoration areas requiring ongoing engineering and environmental support. Our services have addressed a range of complex needs across the sites, including tailings management, stream stabilization, facility improvements, historic preservation, and water infrastructure.
A significant portion of the work focused on water management for the historic Bridal Veil Power System. Our services included engineering, procurement, and construction management for the rehabilitation and maintenance of nearly four miles of historic pipelines that supply water to the Bridal Veil Powerhouse. The hydroelectric facility provides electricity to the Town of Telluride, CO, and the surrounding region.
Project management and engineering services also supported the rehabilitation, replacement, and ongoing maintenance of the pipeline system, along with dam safety programs for two high-mountain storage reservoirs that supply water to the powerhouse. Our continuous coordination with local, state, and federal stakeholders supports the safe and reliable operation of this important historic infrastructure.
