Project Description

The Red Line Extension (RLE) Project will extend the City of Chicago’s Red Line 5.3 miles south of the existing 95th Street Station, adding four new stations near 103rd Street, 111th Street, Michigan Avenue, and 130th Street. The project will expand transit access and connectivity for communities on Chicago’s South Side.

The project team is providing drainage design and environmental services to support the extension. Drainage services include evaluating existing systems, developing proposed drainage plans, preparing preliminary design details, and modeling proposed systems in 3D to meet the City Stormwater Ordinance.

Environmental services include preparing Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs), conducting soil and groundwater sampling, and completing Phase II Environmental Site Assessments to evaluate potential contamination and guide appropriate soil management. The team also secured Right of Entry agreements to perform Phase II assessments at 10 City owned properties, supporting environmental due diligence throughout the project corridor.
