Project Description
The Lookout is a luxury vacation home community where our geotechnical team has provided ongoing support since 2013. For more than a decade, the team has been involved in nearly every phase of the community’s development, from early site planning and earthwork to roadway construction, infiltration testing, and geohazard evaluations for individual lots.
The team’s work has also extended to some of the community’s more specialized features, including geotechnical exploration and engineering for a private marina and boat launch on Lake Chelan. Services included engineering and construction monitoring for a variety of slope stabilization improvements, including gabion walls and rock and block retaining walls.
The Lookout is a great example of the value of long-term project involvement. By working alongside the owner, designers, contractors, and other project stakeholders for more than a decade, MacKay has provided continuity and geotechnical expertise as the community has evolved from initial planning into a completed development.
