Project Description

The Vista Ridge Reserve project consitsted of a geotechnical investigation and remediation design for more than 80 homes constructed in an area with highly expansive soils and bedrock. Structural movement had been identified at the site, requiring a detailed evaluation of subsurface conditions and the potential for continued movement.

The investigation used site-specific geologic, geotechnical, and hydrologic data to identify the causes of structural movement and assess the risk of future soil heave. Findings from the evaluation were used to calculate anticipated ground movement and develop an appropriate long-term remediation strategy.

Our team designed a foundation underpinning system to stabilize the affected residences. The homes were ultimately supported using a deep micropile foundation system we designed to extend beyond the expansive soils and provide improved long-term foundation performance.
