Each summer, we welcome talented students and recent graduates from across the country to gain hands-on experience at MacKay. This year’s intern class includes 11 future professionals working in engineering, geology, land surveying, and aviation across our offices.
Throughout the summer, they’ll work alongside our experienced professionals, contribute to real projects, build new skills, and learn more about the industries and communities we serve. We’re excited to introduce this year’s interns!
Patrick Sheehy | Intern Engineer, Aviation | Chicago, IL
- Junior at Marquette University studying Civil Engineering.
- Working with MacKay’s Aviation team this summer.
- Enjoys playing guitar and spending time with friends.
Fernando Rojas | Civil Engineering Intern | Chicago, IL
- Entering his fourth year at Illinois Tech and has been interning with 2IM, now part of MacKay
- Enjoys playing pickup soccer and going to the movies, especially comedy and horror films.
- Loves exploring new places, from the hills of Guanajuato, Mexico, to communities around the Chicago area.
Mackenzie Cline | Geology Intern | Woodinville, WA
- Recently graduated from Central Washington University with a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Russian Language.
- Enjoys figure skating, hiking, and reading.
- Excited to apply classroom knowledge to real-world geology projects.
Carson Pippin | Engineering Intern | Fort Collins, CO
- Junior at Brigham Young University, studying Civil Engineering.
- Proud Fort Collins native now working with Engineering Analytics, now part of MacKay.
- Enjoys pickleball, spending time with friends, and building LEGO® sets.
Amanda Phan | Civil Engineering Intern | Federal Way, WA
- Senior at the University of Washington studying Civil Engineering and Business Administration.
- Loves baking, hiking, and crafting the perfect coffee or matcha latte.
- Enjoys attending concerts and listening to live music.
Antonio (Jaime) Sanchez | Civil Engineering Intern | Federal Way, WA
- Senior at the University of Washington studying Civil Engineering.
- Served five years in the United States Marine Corps as an aircraft mechanic.
- Enjoys Muay Thai, video games, and collecting LEGO®, Pokémon, and Dragon Ball trading cards.
Creede Chatterley | Civil Engineering Intern | Raton, NM
- New Mexico native and junior studying Civil Engineering at Brigham Young University
- Previously served as a Range Safety Officer at Philmont Scout Ranch, teaching firearm safety and outdoor skills.
- Enjoys golfing, playing guitar, spending time with family, and trying great food.
Brennan Dettinger | Civil Engineering Intern | Albuquerque, NM
- Senior at the University of New Mexico studying Civil Engineering.
- Proud dad to his two-year-old son, Brycen.
- Enjoys Muay Thai, spending time with family, and attending concerts and sporting events.
Pranish Kumar | Civil Engineering Intern | Vancouver, WA
- Senior at Washington State University studying Civil Engineering.

Noah Shearer | Land Survey Intern | Vancouver, WA
- Recently completed his first year in the Surveying and Geomatics program at Clark College.
- Passionate about land surveying and geospatial technology.
- Enjoys hiking, making music, and trying new foods.
Kenny Mattos | Land Survey Intern | Vancouver, WA
- Junior studying Civil Engineering with a Geomatics minor at Oregon State University.
- Aspires to become a Professional Land Surveyor in Washington and Oregon.
- Enjoys golfing, camping, snowboarding, and coaching youth baseball.
