We’re excited to welcome Brian McGowan as MacKay’s new Chief Growth Officer.
As MacKay continues to evolve, we’re building the leadership structure that will support our long-term strategy and the opportunities ahead. The addition of a Chief Growth Officer is an important step in that journey, bringing dedicated leadership to our market sector, business development, and marketing functions.
“Brian is an important addition to our leadership team and someone I’ve been looking forward to bringing on board,” said Derrick Smith, Chief Executive Officer. “Over the past several months, we’ve established our market sector leadership structure and continued shaping how we approach growth across the company. I feel like an important piece of that puzzle is now falling into place.”
Derrick continued, “We’ve assembled a talented group of people, and I believe Brian is the right leader to bring this organization together, strengthen how we work across the company, and help us build the capabilities we’ll need for the future.”
With more than 25 years of experience, Brian has helped engineering, infrastructure, environmental, energy, construction, and advanced manufacturing firms expand into new markets, strengthen client relationships, build high-performing teams, and guide strategic growth initiatives. Most recently, he served as Vice President and National Director of Strategic Growth at Atlas Technical Consultants. Brian joins MacKay from the Chicago area and will be based in our Chicago office, partnering with teams and clients across the country.
Just as important as his experience is his approach to leadership. Throughout the interview process, it became clear that he believes sustainable growth starts with strong relationships, collaboration, and helping people succeed.
